This national park is full of historic tracks and facts, and it was once part of an unsuccessful plantation that the British took over after being defeated in the war of independence against the United States in the 18th century. At the park you will see the ruins of the buildings where the slaves lived, this historic land was inhabited by the first humans who walked on these islands, the Lucayans; they were a branch of the Tainos who were the first ones to have contact with Christopher Columbus upon his historic arrival on this part of the world!
